Focus on Contact Lenses

Whether you wear daily, weekly or monthly disposables, or conventional (vial) lenses, check out our selection of lenses that fit your needs.

Dry Eye Treatment

Dry eye syndrome is a chronic condition that develops when your eyes do not produce enough tears to keep the eye’s surface lubricated.

Comprehensive Eye Exams

A thorough ocular health examination will be done using the latest instruments to evaluate all aspects of vision health.

Ask Dr. Smiley Your Eyecare Questions
Are some people more prone to having Dry Eyes than others?

Yes. Patients taking some high blood pressure medications, oral antihistamines, those with autoimmune disease or hormonal changes are more prone to having symptoms of dry eye disease. However, dry eye can also affect patients that are on the computer or digital devices for many hours throughout the day as well as those exposed to certain chemicals or debris in their workplace.

How does the Ortho-K assist in treating nearsightedness, and astigmatism?

Ortho-K lenses work similar to braces for teeth.  My wearing the lens the cornea flattens which temporarily eliminates myopia and corneal astigmatism. No correction is needed during waking hours if Ortho-K lenses are worn at night.

Are there advantages to single-use contact lenses? What are they?

There are many! The biggest is ocular health. Patients wearing daily disposables are at a lower risk of developing ocular infections. Daily disposables provide UV protection which bi-weekly and monthly lenses do not. Patients usually notice improved comfort with daily disposables as they wear a new, fresh lens every day. Because the lens does not degrade over time, patients also noticed improved optics with daily disposables which results in clearer vision. Patients also enjoy the added convenience of wearing lenses for one day rather than cleaning lenses nightly and maintaining a wearing schedule.
